This position is in Cargill’s food ingredients and bio-industrial business, where we anticipate trends around taste, nutrition and safety to innovate and provide solutions to manufacturers, retailers and foodservice companies.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Capital Project Engineer will manage, plan, support, and where applicable, execute engineering deliverables for site capital projects at two of Cargill's corn milling facilities. In this role, you will develop and apply engineering standards and procedures, providing advice on issues within the engineering field.
Key Accountabilities
- Plan, design and estimate time and cost, overseeing construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems and components.
- Analyze and develop solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems or the causes of component failures.
- Design and improve manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment, testing manufactured products to maintain quality.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum of four years of related work experience
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing projects of $5M+
- Construction management, commissioning and start-up experience
- Experience with SAP
