Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Demand Planner is responsible for developing comprehensive demand plans for a diverse portfolio of products with complex planning requirements. This includes integrating data inputs, applying statistical forecasting methods, and incorporating business insights, including information on new and discontinued products.
This role involves working with large datasets and collaborating across teams to build a reliable demand plan that supports effective financial planning and supply chain execution.

The role can be based in one of the following locations: Schiphol (Netherlands), Izegem (Belgium), Hamburg (Germany).

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain all stages of the demand planning process, ensuring alignment across functions and providing insights into potential risks, opportunities, and planning scenarios
  • Create and manage demand forecasts using statistical models, historical data, and market intelligence across multiple levels (e.g., SKU, product group, region)
  • Maintain and refine forecasting data, including hierarchy structures, historical data cleansing, demand sensing inputs, and model parameters.
  • Collaborate with teams across commercial, marketing, supply chain, and finance to incorporate customer insights, promotional activities, and market trends into the forecast
  • Address complex planning challenges, applying sound judgment and escalating issues when needed to ensure effective resolution
  • Lead initiatives to improve processes and optimize systems related to demand planning tools and forecasting methodologies, enhancing overall efficiency and accuracy
  • Deliver clear reporting and actionable business insights to support leadership in making strategic decisions related to inventory, capacity, and service levels
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor, supporting the development of planning capabilities and sharing knowledge within the team

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
  • Demonstrated experience in demand planning within an S&OP/IBP framework, with solid exposure to supply planning functions such as forecasting and master planning—ideally within food production or FMCG sector
  • Familiarity with SAP IBP or comparable planning tools
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in Excel
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with diverse teams and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to navigate dynamic environments and prioritize tasks effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Power BI scripting and advanced analytical reporting (e.g., VBA).
