This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

The FSQR (Food Safety Quality and Regulatory) Summer Student will be responsible for supporting the Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Department through collaboration with the operations team to meet food safety and production objectives. The technician will be expected to have the ability to take on a variety of roles as required, including but not limited to food safety monitoring and accurate paperwork completion. This position requires to work under controlled 0 – 4 degrees Celsius temperatures 90% of the time.

Shift available: Afternoon



Principal Accountabilities:

  • Carry out on-line monitoring and inspections
  • Record keeping related to the food safety related monitoring tasks (e.g., audits, on floor titrations and other measurements etc.)
  • Other tasks as required


Required Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
  • Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme cold (0 – 4 degrees Celsius)
  • Must be able to communicate in English (Verbal and written)
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a production related work
  • Able to work overtime
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to accurately follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions
  • Multi-tasking capabilities and willingness to learn
  • Previous food safety and quality assurance experience
