The Packer will be in charge of operate packaging equipment to fill, label, stack, and stretch wrap product containers.


Compensation: $21.51/hr 
Job Type: Full Time
Shift available:  3rd Shift


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Operate packaging equipment to fill, label, stack, and stretch wrap product containers
  • Monitor packaging equipment performance; make adjustments to equipment as necessary 
  • Record and review production data as required on log sheets
  • Perform product and packaging change-overs as scheduled
  • Restock boxes, skids, and liners for next shift and current shift as needed 
  • Use pallet handling equipment to move product or packaging materials as required
  • Maintain all production areas in a neat and clean condition
  • Properly account for any product rework  
  • Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Follow all Food Safety (HACCP), GMP’s, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental programs


Required Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Must be able and willing to perform with or without reasonable accommodation: bending, kneeling, climbing, crawling, twisting and lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
  • Basic computer skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Perform basic math tasks
  • High school diploma or GED or 3 months or related experience
  • Basic experience troubleshooting various mechanical components and systems
