Job Purpose and Impact
A Material Handler is responsible for staging, transporting, and dumping all packaged dry ingredients into the chocolate paste batching systems.

Key Accountabilities
Principal Accountabilities
- Follow all Food Safety (HACCP), GMP’s, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental programs
- Manually lift and dump ingredients into specified hoppers (up to 55 lbs)
- Measure ingredients and document amounts and lot #’s according to formulas
- Maintain raw material inventory logs and reconcile daily
- Empty and wash garbage bins used in Batching department
- Contact Supervisor/Operator 1 or 2 and/or Maintenance personnel in the event of any problems with the equipment
- Clean work areas and equipment as assigned or scheduled
- Must obtain forklift license, and use pallet handling equipment to move product or ingredient materials as required
- Maintain all production areas in a neat and clean condition
- Properly account for any ingredient spills or scrap
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Batching Supervisor/Operator 1 or 2
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
- Must have keyboarding skills for data inputting
- Minimum of 1 year related food manufacturing experience and/or training
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)
- Strong mathematical skills
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 55 lbs, kneeling, climbing and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Ability to operate machinery or industrial equipment
- Ability to work in various temperature environments
- Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as SAP
- High school diploma or GED
- Forklift or Walkie experience
- Basic maintenance experience
