This position is in our Ag & Trading enterprise, where we connect producers and users of grains and oilseeds around the globe through origination, trading, processing, and distribution. We also offer a range of farmer services and risk management solutions. 

Job Purpose and Impact

The Tanker Trader will provide advanced understanding of proprietary financial trading practices and procedures to generate consistent profit in emerging and developed markets in collaboration with strategic stakeholders. In this role, you provide thought leadership and advanced knowledge to influence strategy and trade execution of foreign exchange rates, sovereign credits and similar higher risk instruments.

Key Accountabilities

  • Devise and execute profitable FFA and physical tanker trading strategies for speculative and risk management books for OT tanker desk as well as on behalf of Cargill internal customers.
  • Collaborate, discuss and explain trading themes with tanker team, risk team and leadership.  Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction.
  • Direct and collaborate with tanker analytics.
  • Oversee internal pricing, valuations and accurate recordings to reflect proprietary and hedging trading positions and exposures.
  • Innovate around new trading ideas both derivative and physical within Cargill trading parameters.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience.
  • Experience of trading Tanker FFA markets.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of oil and tanker markets with 5+ years experience of either/both and the ability to analyse, discuss, form trading opinions and execute on those markets.
  • Capability to collaborate and form part of a trading team.
  • Impeccable trading logic and the ability to communicate with authority both internally and with external brokers, partners and counterparts including building networks to support the job.
