Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Structurer, Trade Finance, as a subject matter authority, will originate, structure and advise on highly complex financing transactions. In this role, you will structure highly complex financial solutions by understanding the requirements of the customers and the applicable financial, legal, regulatory and tax frameworks.

You will actively participate in exploring commercial opportunities alongside EU/Africa Origination team and Global RIG team. You will need to have the ability to understand the needs and wants of the customers and provide them with financial solutions which deliver value to Cargill and the customers. You will be expected to work closely with Legal, Tax, Transaction Management, Risk, Cargill Business Units as well as interact with the other TCM regions to deliver the financial solutions for our current and future commercial relationships and as such a you should expect to utilize the mixture of Legal/Tax/Financial expertise and experience in working with transactional documentation (review, drafting, ensuring the documentation reflects both the commercial agreements and the legal and tax advice etc.) and have the ability to apply it to commercial relationships and with commercial mindset.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop experienced understanding of the assigned geography's financial business landscape and the corresponding business risks.
  • Develop experienced and deep understanding of the commercial, accounting and legal and tax nuances of the structures important for Cargill and apply such knowledge to new and existing transactions;
  • Engage (as and when required) in client facing activities joining Origination team to understand customers' complex financial solutions requirements.
  • Lead and review documentations on ongoing and new transactions within the assigned geography.
  • Develop regional, large country, or multi country structuring financial solutions for customers based on current and potential market opportunities.  You will need to develop such solutions to a great level of detail, including transactional documentation templates, and present those to the subject matter experts (Tax, Law, Accounting and Transaction Management teams and be in a position to support the approval and execution & settlement of such developed solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems.
  • You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 5-6 years of relevant work experience. 

In addition to the min qualifications we will be looking for: 
-    Knowledge of EU languages (particularly French) in addition to English is a major plus
-    Knowledge of / exposure to the EU and Africa financial/trade finance market (banks, financial institutions, financial lawyers etc.)
-    Understanding of legal/ tax basic concepts, tax consequences of transactions/withholding taxes mechanics/application and VAT mechanics/application 
-    Good organization skills, to follow on tasks - short learning curve required; strong learning capability, strong sense of curiosity and willingness to work out of comfort zone; 
-    Ability to manage different priorities and work well under time pressure as well as adverse market situations;
-    Previous experience in managing multiple internal and external stakeholders.
