Job Purpose and Impact

The Global Lead Buyer - Vitamins and Amino Acids will lead the sourcing strategy for two dynamic ingredient categories in our Animal Nutrition & Health global business. This is a unique risk management role that leads a global team of sourcing professionals. Strategic supplier relationship management is critical. In this role, you will maximize profitability for the Vitamins and Amino Acid categories. Key areas of focus will be price risk management, feed ingredient and feed industry trends, supply chain optimization, quality and technical attributes of product, and supplier mix.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead team in gathering market intelligence. Understand ingredient and overall feed market trends that will impact your categories.
  • Oversee development and execution of category strategy that supports our overall ANH Risk Management and Sourcing strategy.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and achieving our corporate sustainability targets 
  • Monitor and review manufacturer and supplier performance with category targets. 
  • Establish category targets and goals and track the performance. 
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business and regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. 
  • You will collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure risk management strategies align and support our regional business needs 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in directly trading and managing a risk position
  • Experience managing large strategic supplier relationships 
  • Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience 
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years of supervisory experience 
  • Experience in animal feed industry, and specifically in animal feed ingredients trading
