Job Purpose and Impact

The Forklift Operator  will operate and drive industrial forklifts requiring moderate skills and regular guidance. In this role, you will ensure material handling and storage procedures are followed to meet all safety and regulatory policies.


Job Type: Full Time
Shift Available: 2nd shift 
Compensation: $21.75/hr; plus shift differential

Key Accountabilities

  • Operating forklifts
  • Operate and troubleshoot robotic Depalletizer and other production equipment in a safe and efficient manner to produce quality product
  • Order raw materials as needed
  • Perform line changeovers as needed
  • Supply packaging materials as necessary to own area as well as other areas
  • Put Trash/Cardboard away (dispose in trash compactor/carboard bailer)
  • Cross train in all areas as needed
  • Load material to production line
  • Adjuste production schedule 
  • Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
  • Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)     
  • Basic use of a computer     
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)     
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)    
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation     

Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays with advance notice 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic experience troubleshooting various mechanical components and systems
  • Experience working in a production related work
  • Prior experience operating a forklift    
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
