Job Purpose and Impact

The Greenhouse Senior Technician will play a vital role in maintaining the health and sustainability of our greenhouse plants by ensuring consistent care during weekends and holidays. In this role, you will support the overall success of our greenhouse and facility operations by providing attentive watering, nutrient application, monitoring plant health, completing facility inspections, and performing light maintenance to uphold optimal growing conditions. Weekends and Holidays required, flexible hours as needed 

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform routine horticultural care, including watering, fertilizing, pruning, staking, and monitoring plant health to ensure optimal growth conditions. 
  • Enter basic observations and plant care notes into logs to support ongoing plant health monitoring; enter facility inspection checklist results into logs and communicate to team. 
  • Assists with maintenance and troubleshooting of greenhouse systems such as irrigation, ventilation, temperature control and lighting. 
  • Support the greenhouse team by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety within the greenhouse environment. 
  • Perform weekend and holiday plant care duties independently, following established protocols and communicating any issues promptly. 
  • Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of plant care and horticultural practices. 
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and established protocols. 
  • Able to work on weekends and holidays. 
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs and work in warm conditions with or without accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a greenhouse or similar environment. 
  • Basic mechanical skills for routine maintenance of greenhouse equipment. 
  • Knowledge of fertilization, pruning, crossing and other advanced plant care techniques. 
  • B.S. in Horticulture, Plant Breeding or related field. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) for record-keeping and communication

Position Information

Location: Fort Collins, CO

The expected salary for this position is $54,000 – 60,000 . Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
