Embedded in the team of the global company Cargill, Delacon researches, develops and produces natural feed additives for poultry, pigs, ruminants and aquaculture at the Engerwitzdorf site (Linz area).
Job Purpose and Impact
The Quality Specialist will provide specialized knowledge of specific segments of quality systems or plant processes such as food and feed safety and quality auditing, instrumentation, specific product line knowledge, management or oversight of suppliers and other needed focus areas. In this role, you will be involved in preparation and participation of customer audits and you will work together with internal and external teams to address customer requirements and concerns.
This position is based in Engerwitzdorf in Austria at Delacon Animal Nutrition and Healtcare site. The position is an onsite position.
Key Accountabilities
Provide support with external and internal Audits to ensure that established quality standards are met within production processes, raw materials or suppliers and vendors.
Work closely with cross functional teams, including product management and production, to identify and mitigate quality risks within HACCP-, Feed Fraud- und Feed Defense- Meetings and provide specialized knowledge to handle resulting tasks.
Conduct root cause analysis for defects, nonconformities or other quality failures using well-established quality management tools such as 8D reports, 5-WHY method, and others.
Ensure compliance with formal external and internal quality standards, such as ISO 9001:2015, FAMI-QS, and HACCP.
Provide management of specific segments of quality management systems (such as document steering, process management, etc.) and provide continuous improvement support for operations or other functional areas where needed.
Investigate and responds to customer complaints and provide guidance.
Lead the nonconforming materials program for the plant and other plant specific activities including the evaluation of analysis reports, batch release, implementing immediate correction actions und verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions.
Other duties within quality management inculde e.g., KPI-reporting, writing of declarations and statements, completing customer questionnaires, and answering quality-relevant customer inquiries.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a related field, preferably Food- & Biotechnology, Chemistry or other natural sciences.
Minimum of two years of related work experience in Quality Management within the food or feed industry
Experience with quality management systems and international standards of the food and feed industry (e.g.ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, GMP+, FAMI-QS, IFS).
Experience with food and feed safety concepts, including HACCP, hazard analysis, root cause analysis, and knowledge of regulatory requirements in the food and feed sector.
Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and enjoys working in a team.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).
Excellent German and very good English language skills, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in conducting food safety audits (customer, certification and internal audits)
Training as an internal auditor, QMB, etc. is an advantage

For legal reasons, we would like to point out that a basic salary of € 3.100 gross per month (based on a 38-hour week) is provided for this position. The actual remuneration depends on training, experience and individual skills and can therefore be significantly higher.
