Embedded in the team of the global company Cargill, Delacon researches, develops and produces natural feed additives for poultry, pigs, ruminants and aquaculture at the Engerwitzdorf site (Linz area). 


Job Purpose and Impact

The Formulation Technology Manager will define and execute research and development projects on process and product developments. In this role, you will be responsible for ideation, product formulation and planning and coordination of project tasks. You will communicate the conclusions and follow up actions with relevant departments to ensure strong stakeholder management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the innovation pipeline and portfolio with ideas for the conversion of scientific research and growth of distinctive product and process offerings and support parts of more complex innovation and cost improvement projects.
  • Assist in managing process improvement and novel ingredients discovery and communicate project results, recommending actionable next steps to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Secure innovation property rights by collaborating with intellectual asset management to assist with the development of strategies, processes and control mechanisms to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Participate research and development innovation growth by collaborating with businesses and with technology partners such as universities, research and development organizations and industry forums.
  • Conduct research and experiments and analyze results that include interpretation of completed trial results.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Food and Feed Technology / Human/Animal Nutrition / Pharmacy)
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience (formulation / product formulation and product development / food technology)
  • Experience in product and process technology
  • Industry background in food and feed production / pharmaceutical 
  • English Language (advanced level), German (B2 level)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry background in feed industry
  • Master's degree or other post-secondary degree
  • Skills in project management

For legal reasons, we would like to point out that a basic salary of €2800 gross per month (based on a 38-hour week) is provided for this position. The actual remuneration depends on training, experience and individual skills and can therefore be higher.
