This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.

The Process Operator will perform a variety of responsibilities throughout a production facility, including operating mechanical machinery and equipment, performing maintenance, troubleshooting complex issues and supporting others utilizing in-depth knowledge of established policies and procedures and occasional guidance. In this role, you will be assigned different work areas as needed to ensure production goals are met, support production of quality product and maximize throughput while following all safety and regulatory polices.

Principal Accountabilities


  • Operate equipment and technology tools throughout the production facility, backfilling prior areas as needed and supporting others utilizing a broad understanding of varied and multi-dimensional processes.
  • Perform variety of responsibilities throughout the facility which may include loading and unloading bulk materials, packaging, terminal operations, mixing, monitoring computerized control systems and making complex machine processing adjustments.
  • Support others in learning operating procedures, receives input from peers and provide feedback on clarity and effectiveness of guidance, including procedure documentation.
  • Perform maintenance and trouble shoot complex machine and equipment issues broader in scope, making or instructing others on adjustments as necessary.
  • Record production and inventory activities in computerized systems.
  • Operate mobile powered equipment (i.e. forklift, skid loader, sit down floor sweeper, front end loader).
  • Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures, maintain a safe and clean work environment and control work pace and progress on assigned equipment and processes, requiring awareness of links with other process areas.

Required Qualifications:


  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting 50 lbs kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Basic use of a computer
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Prior experience in production related work
  • Forklift certified
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Proven ability to manage compliance with Environment, Health & Safety and Operations standards and regulations
  • Knowledge of inventory control, quality management, operating efficiency, agricultural experience or specialized
