Job Purpose and Impact

The Account Manager- Pork (Open to Remote) will expand business with assigned customers and prospects. In this role, you will learn about your customers, understand their needs, and deliver value added solutions. You will collaborate with your account teams and utilize the appropriate resources to deliver results for the customer. 

This position will be work with the US pork producers, up to 50% travel is required to cover the area of responsibility. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement strategy for designated customers to expand relationships, improve margin growth and deliver results for customers.
  • Establish trust, mutually beneficial and long-term partnership with customers, clarify mid to long term customer needs and develop and agree to a specification of customer requirements.
  • Collect insights from the external market to understand competitors and influence trends, define and deliver value proposition.
  • Build and nurture an internal network to deliver optimal solutions such as the leadership of collaboration with key stakeholders internally, definition of long-term strategy and anticipation of challenges to ensure effective resolution of issues.
  • Use tailored storytelling that resonates with and inspires customers, that create excitement around our role in the achievement of their objectives.
  • Utilize thought leadership in our industry and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience in sales, commercial or business development or related field
  • Knowledge of animal nutrition or pork industry
  • Able and willing to travel up to 50%
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Animal science or animal nutrition background
  • Experience working with salesforce
  • Experience understanding customer needs and adding value to partnerships with face-to-face customer interaction, relationship building and communication skills 
  • Experience in business development in highly competitive mature markets
  • Experience in consultative sales approach 

Applicant Information

The expected salary for this position is $80,000 to 120,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
