This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Process Engineer will focus on optimizing the interconnected components of our manufacturing system by applying process and project engineering techniques to improve both processes and products. This role involves developing and implementing engineering standards and procedures, while providing advice on technical challenges and leveraging continuous improvement techniques and project management skills to drive operational excellence. In this role, you will help support the coordination of plant layout, personnel workflow, materials logistics, production process sequence and equipment layouts.
Key Accountabilities
Help manufacturing plant and facilities engineers with facility planning and design.
Collaborate with process engineers and cross-functional teams to optimize capital projects, improve cost-efficiency and reliability, benchmark best practices, and support strategic planning.
Help conduct cost/inventory/production control and human factors studies to develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revise operating methods.
Establish methods to maximize use of facilities and personnel, including planning production shutdowns and ensuring maintenance compliance.
Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Ability and willingness to work on weekends and be on call based on business need.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with operations data and design programs and applications.
- Experience and skills leading moderately complex projects.
- Proven data analysis capabilities including continuous improvement experience.
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
Position Information
- Relocation assistance will be provided for this position.
- This position is located in Dayton, Ohio.
- The work schedule is: Monday – Friday typically from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- There are some events that might require to work on off-shifts or weekends.
- There is an on-call component to this position.
