Principal Accountabilities: 

  • Perform daily operations of the facility safely, efficiently and profitably
  • Perform facility operations such as receiving and shipping of seed, fertilizer and chemical
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of seed and crop inputs products
  • Perform basic maintenance and operator care of equipment
  • Maintain inventory records, perform counts and investigate discrepancies
  • Provide excellent customer service and engage with team members
  • Coordinate operations, support sales and customer service activities
  • Administrate transactions for shipping, receiving and customer payments
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Agronomy team to execute on customer sales and product forecasting
  • Portray a professional image, both personally and throughout the location
  • Liaison with internal and external supplier contacts
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Understand and adhere to all safety rules and regulations
  • Lead safety related activities for the facility: safety training, maintain regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Conduct regular site inspections, hold monthly safety meetings with staff to review procedures and safety awareness issues
  • Other duties as assigned under the direction of the Retail Manager and Plant Manger

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Basic use of a computer
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Must possess a valid Canadian Class 5 driver’s license in good standing authorizing you to drive independently during the course of your employment and be able to safely operate a 5 ton delivery van

Preferrer Qualifications:

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays with advance notice
  • Basic mechanical aptitude

This Full-time position is located in Birch Hills, SK however please expect receiving calls from 204 area code. Please note that this position does not include relocation reimbursement.
