Job Purpose and Impact

Would you like to help develop production at one of Northern Norway’s most important industrial companies?

Cargill is looking for an engaged and results-driven Process Specialist Plant for our modern fish feed production facility in Bergneset. In this role, you will combine process expertise, Lean methodologies and data-driven production management to support the future development of fish feed manufacturing.

The Process Specialist Plant will perform routine activities focused on continuous improvement of production process and asset reliability through the identification and elimination of defects. In this role, you will use your expertise to support reliability engineering strategies while contributing to enhanced production performance, safety and operational efficiency. 

As a key member of the plant’s technical team, you will work closely with support functions and report directly to the Plant Manager.

Key Accountabilities

•    Drive improvements in production processes.
•    Provide support in the implementation of reliability excellence activities, identifying and prioritizing reliability engineering value creation opportunities.
•    Support root cause analysis (RCA) activities and contribute to the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to improve reliability and operational performance.
•    Assist in technical reviews of projects and collaborate with related areas on new equipment reliability specifications.
•    Support the identification and elimination of bad actors and the optimization of equipment availability.
•    Collaborate with maintenance repairs and production in reliability related processes and the identification of critical spares.
•    Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
•    Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•    Degree in process technology, machinery, automation, chemistry or related field.
•    Experience from a manufacturing or process industry environment, ideally fish feed production facility.
•    Experience supporting continuous improvement and root cause analysis (RCA) activities. 
•    Fluent in Norwegian and English, both written and verbal.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•    Strong data analysis capabilities.
•    Knowledge in maintenance process management.
•    knowledge in the application of reliability tools.
•    Experience with green belt, lean or six sigma methodologies.
•    Knowledge of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
•    Ability to analyze equipment and process performance data to identify improvement opportunities. 
•    Knowledge of Power BI, statistical tools or other digital solutions is an advantage. 
•    Strong collaboration and communication skills.
