Job Purpose and Impact

Senior Government Relations Lead will guide and represent the company on complex legislative and regulatory affairs with local and central government entities, and government officials in regulatory agencies. In this role, you will build and maintain relationships with governments, trade associations, industry coalitions, public services and other authorities to influence policies and positions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as a resource on regulatory and advocacy matters.
  • Organize high level government meetings and engagements.
  • Prepare and organize forums and gatherings with government officials to exchange ideas and information on business activities and potential legislation that may affect the organization.
  • Ensure that the organization's interests are represented and protected in legislative proceedings and in the development of market rules and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain policies and programs to ensure awareness of government legislation and regulatory issues that affect the organization. Analyze and interpret policies and regulations.
  • Independently handle complex issues, solving problem with creative solutions.
  • Develop and maintain positive internal and external relationships to serve business development.
  • High competence and quality on paperwork and presentations
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience in government affairs.
  • Excellent language capability in English and Chinese.
  • Have a high degree of policy sensitivity.
  • Good communication skills, strong sense of ownership.
  • Strong individual contributor and virtual leadership
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferably having knowledge/connections of central ministries.
  • Preferably have experience working in the central government.
  • Familiarity with agriculture, food or trading commodity industry would be an advantage.
