This position is in Cargill’s animal nutrition and health business, where we improve animal lives through better nutrition. Our team researches, innovates and creates solutions that deliver healthy results for our customers.

Shift Available: Day Shift
Compensation: $40.00/hr, negotiable upwards based on work experience 


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Represent the Maintenance Department in IDEX meetings as required
  • Escalate equipment breakdown issues and obtain additional support as required
  • Communicate shift summary and follow-up work to other team members as required
  • Radio Coverage and distribution of work
  • Collecting and organizing work orders, and ensuring proper closure or work order, administration and development of the PM program
  • Utilizing the CMMS database
  • Communicating with various contractors and suppliers
  • Issue and sign off on EHS permits
  • Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Cover day to day maintenance activities (Repairs, Troubleshooting etc)
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada 
  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Possession of a recognized Trade Certificate (Millwright/Electrician)
  • Experience with precision maintenance
  • At least 5 year of industrial maintenance experience
  • Basic computers use and typing skills
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator
  • Must be willing to work from heights, in confined spaces, and other industrial conditions
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Experience and knowledge of the operation of the Maintenance Department 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift experience
  • Experience performing maintenance trades such as electrical, machinist, welding, pipefitting, fabrication, rigging systems, gearbox and bearings, lubrication, pump and piping systems, mechanical or hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Previous experience with MRO (Maintenance Repair Ops) and/or MRP (Material Requirement Planning)
  • Knowledge of the Maintenance Reliability process (predictive and preventative maintenance) and Predictive Technologies
  • Ability to read blueprints and layout drawings
  • Automation control, boiler and steam systems training and experience
  • Welding certification and/or other trade experience
