Job Purpose and Impact

The Group Controller Agribusiness & Trading - EMEA owns the oversight and execution of financial reporting and control activities to provide valuable insights into strategic decision making while ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal company policies. This job directs and guides the department responsible for maintaining accounting policies and financial controls as well as preparing financial reports to safeguard the organization's assets. This job also champions continuous improvement and operational excellence, including identifying process risks, and establishing and leading implementation of risk mitigation and controls to monitor the impact. This position is part of our Ag & Trading business, connecting global grain and oilseed producers and customers through origination, trading, processing, and distribution, supported by farmer services and risk management solutions.

Key Accountabilities

• ACCOUNTING POLICY & CONTROL COMPLIANCE: Owns and guides the execution of accounting policies and financial controls, ensuring financial reporting is performed timely, accurately and in compliance with regulatory policies.
• FINANCIAL STATEMENTS & ANALYSIS: Owns and guides the effective and efficient delivery of financial analysis, statements, and risk forecasting to support decision making, while maintaining compliance with established requirements, policies and risk management.
• FINANCE OPERATIONAL RESULT DELIVERY: Leads communication on finance operational results in a timely and effective manner through performance dashboards and clearly articulates business value.
• PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: Nurtures a culture of continuous process improvement and operational excellence by driving improvement initiatives for the accounting function and implementing best in class standards in accounting operations.
• TEAM MANAGEMENT: Manages team members to achieve the organization’s goals, by ensuring productivity, communicating performance expectations, creating goal alignment, giving and seeking feedback, providing coaching, measuring progress and holding people accountable, supporting employee development, recognizing achievement and lessons learned, and developing enabling conditions for talent to thrive in an inclusive team culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement of 8 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 12 years or more of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in agribusiness or another relevant commodity-based industry.
• Proven experience leading, motivating, and developing large teams across multiple locations within a multicultural environment.
• Proven experience operating within a multinational organization, preferably in a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), internal controls environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS, with a demonstrated ability to apply accounting standards to complex transactions, including derivatives and fair value accounting.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated success in delivering technology implementations, advancing operational excellence initiatives, and driving continuous process improvement across complex organizations.
• Proven experience managing mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint venture initiatives, driving seamless transactions and business integration efforts.
• Recognized professional accounting certification (CPA or equivalent), reflecting a strong foundation in financial stewardship, governance, and compliance.
• Fluency in an additional language would be considered an advantage.
