Lake Odessa Protein Processing Plant

Located in Lake Odessa, Michigan, a historic village founded in 1846 and situated between Grand Rapids and Lansing, Cargill’s Lake Odessa facility has been a key part of the company’s egg processing operations since 1994. With nearly 300 employees, the facility is one of Cargill’s four egg processing plants and processes over 500,000 pounds of liquid egg product daily, serving major food manufacturers and foodservice providers across the U.S.

The Lake Odessa team is deeply committed to workplace safety and environmental responsibility. The facility has a strong track record of sending employees home safely and operates an on-site wastewater pre-treatment system to support sustainable operations.

At Cargill, giving back is part of our culture. Our employees actively support the local community through partnerships with organizations such as Ronald McDonald House Charities of West and Mid-Michigan, Feeding America of Ionia County, and Manna’s Market, which provides food and essential services to Lake Odessa residents.
