Maintenance Planner Lead
The role of the Maintenance Planner is critical to the ongoing success of the Maintenance and Reliability effort. The Planner is responsible for identifying the elements of an executable work package that should contain (but not limited to), the work plan, the necessary materials, tools, and permits, and labor requirements prior to passing the work on to scheduling. Planners also update and adjust existing job plans and equipment data. They are expected to incorporate safety into all work plans and help insure that work is performed safely and efficiently and help insure that the work management process as managed efficiently. Planners are also expected to insure that the work management portions of the CMMS are updated and accurate.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Review/Organize/Prioritize work approved for planning
- Walk-down job – visit job site
- Determine if shutdown is required
- Determine if Engineering Change is required and initiate MOC Process if necessary
- Determine if “existing” job plan is available
- Review/Organize/Prioritize work approved for planning
- Plan and estimate work orders including (but not limited to): Procedures & Instructions, Crafts and Labor ID, Time Estimate & Milestones, Drawings & Manuals, Material Estimation, Special Tools & Services, Safety & Environmental, Validation & Completion Requirements, Permits
- Coordinate with Purchasing to order and reserve materials
- Determine if job is ready to schedule
- Change work order status appropriately based on work management process
- Conduct PM optimization and evaluation
- Maintain equipment BOM’s
- Ensure equipment attributes and spec sheets are complete and accurate
- Monitor work flow compliance
- Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Requirements:
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud, noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Able to work in confined spaces
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, different shifts, and holidays with advance notice
- Basic computer skills (MS Office package)
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and detailed knowledge of the mechanical maintenance work
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or Equivalent
- Possess a valid Canadian full class 5 driver’s licence in good standing authorizing you to drive independently during the course of your employment
- Experience with safe work practices, such as Pre-Job Hazard Analysis (PJHA), confined spaces, job task permitting, etc.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as SAP
