This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Operations Manager will provide strategic operational guidance and direction for the Cooked operations as well as shipping and receiving at the Fort Worth, Texas Cargill Protein facility. In this role, you will lead a team managing multi-shift operations and oversee and hold your team accountable to standards for safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead a team of leaders, providing coaching, training and hands on support. Develop metrics and KPIs and empower your team to engage their teams in the achievement of goals.
- Implement and monitor employee and product safety and environmental compliance program standards and goals for the plant.
- Accountable for all internal and external operating and regulatory procedures on employee and product safety including strategic and tactical execution in alignment with corporate environment, health and safety and food safety, quality and regulatory functions as well as government regulations.
- Monitor general operations and maintenance of plant equipment and execute on operational priorities and quality management deliverables to ensure customer, product and quality standards requirements are met within specifications.
- Prepares, administers and controls operating budgets to achieve short- and medium-term financial performance objectives and ensure accountability for meeting and controlling operating expenses and established targets.
- Accountable for the overall operational management and efficiency improvements including standardization of plant information manufacturing systems, quality control, safety, production reliability excellence and maintenance and operator’s best practices.
- Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
- Safety and quality ownership experience
- Budgeting and operations planning experience
- Minimum of six years of related work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Three or more years of supervisory experience
- Experience in a food processing facility
