Shifts Available: 1st: (6:45 AM to 3:45 PM) / 2nd: (4:00 PM to 1:00 AM)
Compensation: Starting $26.25/hr
Job Overview
As an Industrial Butcher, you will use basic knife skills to safely cut, trim, and prepare beef products according to quality and food safety standards. This role focuses on consistent, entry-level knifing tasks and provides guidance as you build skill and confidence in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.
What You Will Do
- Assist livestock processing by performing tasks such as stunning, skinning, cleaning, and trimming.
- Handle and prepare carcasses by removing inedible parts and separating portions as directed.
- Place finished product into holding containers or conveyors to support workflow efficiency.
- Maintain knives and tools by safely sharpening and handling equipment.
- Perform job duties in a fast-paced, cold, or warm production setting with required PPE while engaging in physical tasks such as standing for long periods of time, climbing, bending, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as requested.
- Follow all safety, food safety, and regulatory policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Minimum of 2 years of meat cutting experience with beef or pork, using advanced knife techniques within the last 5 years.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Knowledge of safe movement, lifting, and knife handling techniques in a production environment.
- Familiarity with production control processes in a protein manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to maintain consistent quality and yield in a fast-paced setting.
