Job Purpose and Impact

The Process Excellence team works across the business to solve complex problems, improve end-to-end processes and deliver transformation initiatives that strengthen performance, enable growth and simplify how work is done. The team partners with business units, functions and technology teams to diagnose opportunities, redesign processes and operating practices, implement practical solutions, manage change and deliver measurable, sustainable outcomes.
Artificial intelligence is growing rapidly in scale, importance and business impact. Alongside the team’s established process-excellence and business-transformation agenda, the team is increasing its focus on designing, building and deploying AI-enabled solutions that improve decision-making, productivity and ways of working. This requires combining strong business and consulting disciplines with practical AI, digital and technology capability.
The team is therefore seeking a consultant with a strong foundation in transformation, business analysis and consulting, together with a greater focus on AI and technology. The Business & AI Transformation Consultant will support the design, build and deployment of AI solutions, alongside business transformation initiatives and process-excellence improvements. Working within defined projects or workstreams, the role will translate business opportunities into practical AI-enabled solutions, redesigned processes and improved ways of working. The role combines traditional consulting disciplines with hands-on AI and digital implementation, including business problem definition, solution design, data and source-system connectivity, prototyping, testing, deployment, stakeholder engagement, change management, adoption and measurement of business value.

Key Accountabilities

• AI solution design, build and deployment: Design, build, test and deploy practical AI solutions that solve business problems and improve how work is performed. Support use-case definition, value and feasibility assessment, data readiness, solution design, prototyping, testing, responsible-AI controls, deployment, adoption and benefits tracking. Build solutions using Microsoft Copilot, GPT-based platforms and Abacus.AI, including copilots, RAG, agents, low-code automation and analytics applications.
• Process excellence and end-to-end improvement: Improve end-to-end processes through process mapping, root-cause analysis and identification of pain points, control gaps and performance opportunities. Help design, implement and sustain future-state improvements.
• Business transformation: Analyse business models, operating practices, capabilities and performance challenges, translating findings into transformation recommendations and practical changes to processes, operating models, technology and ways of working.
• Improvement execution and value delivery: Execute improvement initiatives that contribute to growth, productivity, cost, quality, risk and customer outcomes. Translate recommendations into actions, owners, milestones and measurable benefits.
• Process and operating model design: Design new or integrated processes for strategic, growth and technology-enabled initiatives, defining workflows, roles, decision rights, controls, governance and performance measures.
• Technology and ERP-enabled improvement: Partner with process, data and technology teams to improve technology-enabled processes. Support business requirements, testing, deployment readiness and adoption for ERP modernization and system implementations.
• Project and workstream management: Manage projects and workstreams through clear plans, milestones, risks, dependencies and status reporting. Coordinate contributors, maintain momentum and escalate issues early.
• Stakeholder engagement and influence: Build relationships across business, functional and technology teams. Develop evidence-based recommendations, incorporate feedback and support alignment and decision-making.
• Change management and business continuity: Assess change impacts and develop communications, training, deployment, adoption and business-continuity materials. Monitor adoption and address resistance or capability gaps.
• Workshops and co-design: Facilitate interviews, process mapping, problem-solving and solution-design workshops, translating discussions into clear decisions, actions, owners and next steps.
• Performance management and process health: Define baselines, KPIs and process-health measures. Analyse trends and track benefits across cost, quality, risk, cycle time, adoption and commercial outcomes.
• Executive communication: Develop concise, executive-ready presentations, business cases, decision papers and recommendations with clear storylines, insights and asks.
• Responsible AI and solution quality: Support privacy, security, responsible-AI, human oversight, testing and control requirements. Document risks and limitations and verify outputs before business use.
• Capability and knowledge building: Develop reusable process maps, templates, playbooks, training and implementation materials, and help teams sustain improved ways of working.

Qualifications

• Strong preference for experience with a Big 4 firm. Alternatively, a systems integrator, or another recognized strategy execution, operations, digital or implementation consultancy.
• Typically 2-3 years or more of relevant experience in management consulting, business transformation, technology consulting, systems integration, digital delivery or a comparable internal consulting role.
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics, finance, information systems, computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience contributing to one or more end-to-end transformation, process-improvement, ERP, digital or AI-enabled implementation projects, with clear personal ownership of analysis and delivery outputs.
• Evidence of strong academic achievement and analytical capability. Consider achievement in context and recognize equivalent evidence of excellence, leadership or complex problem solving.
• Experience working directly with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
