Job Purpose and Impact
The Business Development Associate will apply knowledge and advanced analytical skills to contribute as a key member of the Biointermediates Global Business Development Team. Cargill’s Biointermediates business, a part of Cargill’s Bioindustrial group, is focused on delivering renewable and sustainable chemical solutions to world leading brand owners and customers. In this role, you will collaborate with cross functional teams across Biointermediates and the broader Cargill organization to identify and execute transformational new business development opportunities in bio-based chemical intermediate markets.
Work in cross functional teams to execute complex business development projects in growth markets by applying in-depth understanding of strategy and advanced analytical skills.
Prepare recommendation documents using advanced communication skills to influence business leaders and key stakeholders.
Identify and assess new business opportunities using insights from both a market back and technology forward perspective. Gather market intelligence in collaboration with Strategic Marketing to identify strategic implications to current projects and inform future strategy formation.
Support business case development, strategic partnership negotiations and customer agreements that lead to the successful commercialization of new products.
Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Experience participating in complex projects requiring team problem solving
Experience leveraging written and oral communication to ensure effective stakeholder management
Experience with advanced data analysis and financial modeling
Minimum of four years of related work experience
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Master's degree or other post-secondary degree or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Experience in marketing, product line management or management consulting
Experience in biochemical, bio-based plastic or packaging related markets
Complex conceptual, quantitative and analytical problem solving skills
Experience supporting complex international projects and working with diverse teams and cultures
