Application Engineer - Meat Analogs

Job Purpose and Impact
We seek a Senior Application Engineer to focus on innovation and product development within Cargill's ingredient portfolio in plant-based meat alternatives. You will support new plant-based meat alternatives product development initiatives. Your focus will be on innovation to help move ingredients from concept to commercialization while collaborating with other technical and business teams. Research efforts will also involve multifunctional interaction with commercial and technical service teams, as well as customers. In addition, this position will require flexibility to assist with other applications team projects and shorter-term projects, as needed, using other ingredients across food/beverage applications categories.
Key Accountabilities
• Work with technical service teams, marketing and sales to meet customer needs and making technical presentations to customers.
• Work with customers and business partners to identify and deliver on dedicated project opportunities.
• Prepare scientific reports or datasheets detailing the organization's products and their applications.
• Assist with product demonstrations and serving as the domain expert during meetings with prospective customers.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated value creation and delivery of applications projects on time and budget
• Experience working in meat and/or plant-based meat alternatives formulation
• Minimum of four years of related work experience in the field
• Other minimum qualifications may apply
Preferred Qualifications
• Able and willing to work on product development using novel and/or non-GRAS food ingredients
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledgeable about functionality of ingredients in plant-based meat alternatives following current trends and developments
