Job Purpose and Impact

The Document and Sample Control Specialist will support the research and development team, conduct research projects in the facility, assist with sampling and sample related procedures and duties, conduct tasks to support facility upkeep and provide input on plant procedures related to research and development testing in the pilot plant and PD lab. This person will also support the scheduling of pilot plant operations and adjust the schedule as plans change.  

Key Accountabilities

  • Conducts shelf-life testing.
  • Prepare products for informal and formal sensory panels.
  • Assist with the operation, assembly and disassembly of lab and pilot plant equipment.
  • Document appropriate product information for research purposes and tracking of sample products.
  • Prepare existing samples for shipment to customers or employees.
  • Prepares samples for product exhibitions and expo
  • Keep FG and laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt.
  • Understand and comply with safety regulations and other procedural compliance regulations.
  • Document Control and Updating to ensure all relevant documents are complete and up to date
  • Prepare pilot plant production schedule and communicate with relevant team members on the planned schedule 
  • Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma or polytechnic level or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply
