Job Purpose and Impact

The  Senior Software Engineer, will support, advise and mentor a team that continually develops software products for internal and external customers. In this role, you will be the technical lead of an agile development team and educate and develop other team members to design and write quality maintainable software. You will be actively involved in product discovery and will have program level responsibilities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Establish and inform program and team standards for quality, documentation, re use, dependency management and versioning.
  • Java Script (React/Node, PHP, Full Stack, Container (Docker)
  • Consult with the technical team to find solutions to application functionality issues, mentor software engineer team members and identify knowledge and expertise gaps on the team.
  • Stay up to date on technical advancements within the company and industry to provide insight into the implementation of strategy and technical planning.
  • Draft code, lead by example and ensure the team's design and development of scalable and maintainable applications.
  • Participate and provide insight on interviewing and hiring management decisions.
  • Partner with product managers to actively identify opportunities and problems for the product via product discovery techniques.
  • Be accountable for the team's delivery from a technical perspective and responsible for the technical health of the team's services.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience building systems using microservices or service oriented architecture patterns
  • Experience in an agile software development environment
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven years of experience developing software products
  • Experience in designing and building scalable and secure cloud applications
  • Experience writing automated unit, integration and regression tests
