Job Purpose and Impact

The main purpose for this position is to procure fresh and frozen poultry meat from within Europe and third countries.  The role sets the strategy for implementing and maintaining CPE (Cargill Protein Europe) supply of raw meat to CPE’s European assets for added value manufacturing which requires a significant quantity of volume of meat, meat being the key ingredient for finished products into the retail, QSR and Foodservice channels.

This position will be responsible for the procurement of the raw as a key category within CPE primary for multichannel business. The manufacturing sites are in Poland, the Meat Procurement Manager will be responsible for supply base and category rationalization, develop winning buying strategy and deploy the strategy with the cross functional teams.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop raw meat catalogue and supply base according European regulations (animal welfare, traceability, country of origin, etc.)
  • Work cross functionally to support develop new receipt and supply network for future finished products
  • Connect with NPD process to offer the right range of raw meat products
  • Manage the phase-in-phase-out of the raw meat products based on customer requirements and market trends
  • Deliver cost engineering
  • Be part of the IBP process to ensure raw meat during the product life cycle
  • Provide market insight, opportunity & risk assessment on key trends
  • Define and deploy optimum volume allocation amongst the suppliers
  • Identify supply risks and install mitigation actions
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure strategic partnership and align top priorities
  • Lead cross functional discussion to ensure the suppliers provide the required service, cost and quality

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Procurement or Supply Chain related jobs (e.g. Planning, Operations, Logistics, Procurement/Sourcing)
  • Master’s degree preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Experience with working in a multinational/-cultural environment
  • Experience with working in a large matrix organization set-up
  • Leadership experience (managing through others, influencing, developing) 
  • Experience and proven track record in project and change management (broad scope and cross-functional)
  • Strong team player (Player/Coach principle)
  • Ability to align rules of engagement and hold each other accountable
  • Strong communication, influencing and motivation skills
  • Detailed orientated
  • Stakeholder management, sees the big picture
  • Strong analytical, business process and problem-solving capabilities
  • Build relationships within Cargill and within supply base
