This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters. 

Job Purpose

The Plant Supervisor will implement and execute production for a less complex plant. We seek a professional to ensure responsibilities meet standards for safety, quality, efficiency and financial performance.

Key Accountabilities
  • Monitor and provide guidance on all aspects of the overall operational management of a less complex plant.
  • Administer production budget for a department, process or shift.
  • Monitor deliverables to ensure customer and product/quality standards are met within specifications.
  • Execute day-to-day operations, ensuring direct reports follow policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed safety.
  • You will have some authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions, and much of your time is spent completing the same tasks as the subordinate employees.
The business will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Minimum Required

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum one year of directly related work experience
• One year of supervisory experience
• Demonstrate computer proficiency and Microsoft Office (Word, Exel, PowerPoint) experience 
• Must be willing to work 8-10 hr. and weekends as necessary
• 2 + years of Working knowledge of Food Safety Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA and Environmental regulations)

Preferred

• Emphasis in processing, Food Engineering, Food science or equivalent experience 
• 2+ years Supervisory Experience-People Leadership proficiency 
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement practices
• Knowledge of Reliability Excellence
• Computer literacy
• SAP experience 
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Bilingual (Spanish-English) a plus
