Job Purpose and Impact

The Shipment Execution Specialist helps evaluate distribution and transportation operations, data and facilities to identify the most effective distribution and transportation patterns for products, ensuring efficiency in execution of Logistics operations for various Businesses/Enterprises of Cargill.

We seek a professional who will coordinate with carriers, Customer Service, Plant Transporters and other teams of BUs to facilitate timely delivery of product by efficient planning and execution and troubleshooting any issues.

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyze and project transportation costs, coordinating customs clearances and permits.
  • Rail switching / Bulk truck and shipment coordination, including daily load and unload planning.  Primary contact for facility railroad operations management and safety liaison.
  • Performs data entry updates using spreadsheets and databases based on sales orders/contracts, etc., independently interpret, and analyze data, communicating results to more senior team members for further analysis.
  • Responsible for facility rail/truck damage claims, rail accessorial review and approval, and accounting accruals for rail demurrage, switching, and weighing.
  • QN (Quality Notification) entry and resolution. Works within defined processes to determine root causes for noncompliance and recommend changes for improvement.
  • Manage metrics by maintaining railroadtruck scorecard measures, value measurement tracking, and monitoring carrier performance.
  • Using comprehensive knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry, make recommendations to establish good customer relations.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3-5 experience  in Supply Chain / Procurement / Logistics Industry
  • Good understanding on transportation and international  Logistics  - Rail/Land/Ocean  Operations including understanding of risk and internal controls
  • Preferrable Knowledge of the North American (US/Canda/Mexico) region process, tariffs, terminology, and invoicing practices.
  • Knowledge of USA geography, US Rail network, US Truck Network and carriers.
  • Good communication – written and spoken English skills
  • Flexible to rotational shifts.
  • Business acumen, negotiating and influencing skills.
