Job Purpose and Impact

The Analytical Scientist conducts chemical and physical analyses using a wide variety of laboratory instrumentation and complex analytical methods to support research and development activities for global core RND team, local RDA team and local Business Unit. In this role, you will develop or bring innovative technology to help drive the development of new products and improved processes for the food, feed, and industrial segments.

Key Accountabilities

•    Use a variety of laboratory instrumentation and complex analytical methods to isolate, identify and quantify components of food ingredient, effectively communicate results to diverse teams.
•    Provide analytical support for local RDA team/commercial team to develop/promote new solution, support for FSQR/operation on customer complain and trouble shooting. Develop local analytical capability by the collaboration with global core RND team.
•    Identify and provide resolution in analytical instrumentation maintenance.
•    Prepare analytical samples, standards, and properly disposes of waste according to guidelines in a high safety-focused environment.
•    Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
•    Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
•    Minimum of two years of related work experience
•    Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications

•    MS or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Food Science
•    2+ years working experience in chemical /instrumental/biochemical analysis area for the food, chemical, life sciences or pharma industry 
•    In-depth experience on FTIR, GC-MS, HPLC by operation, method development, interpretation and translating data into information in the context of product development
•    Experience on SEM/SEM-EDS, CLSM, Microscopy by method development, interpretation data to be meaningful result
•    Experience on fiber, enzyme, oil/fat analysis
•    Ability to communicate effectively and be a team player
•    Able to work independently with minimum supervision
•    Good Lab practice behavior
•    Skilled in scientific writing and presentation
•    Proficient in English and Chinese
