Job Purpose and Impact

The Global SQM Coordinator will manage feed safety risk and maximize business value by ensuring efficient execution of Cargill’s thorough approval process for suppliers and ingredients used across multiple Cargill Animal Nutrition & Health (ANH) businesses in multiple countries.  As the main point of contact for ANH’s Global Risk Management & Sourcing (RMS) Team, this role will consolidate the unique requirements of each country needing approval in order to guide global suppliers and the global sourcing team through the approval process in a simple, efficient way.  The Global SQM Coordinator will provide status updates for pending approvals, escalate to RMS when there are delays, and ensure accurate data and documentation in Cargill’s system when the approval process is completed.  . In this role, you will collaborate with multiple departments and regional ANH businesses to ensure vendor evaluations are properly and efficiently completed to identify risk and appropriate due diligence is given to mitigate risk related to vendors and materials. You will partner with vendors to ensure materials, supplier sources and external manufacturer's products comply with minimum product safety, quality and regulatory standards and assess preventative controls to ensure material and supplier risk evaluations meets requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the global RMS function as the leading coordinator to 1) onboard new global suppliers, 2) keep oversight on approval status, 3) have accurate approval status in our system (Archer)
  • Maintain the feed safety management system of Cargill International S.A. (ANH global material trading business), including external certification.
  • Lead the resolution on complex complaints or provide expertise in one or more areas of knowledge independently and provide project management leadership across multiple businesses and enterprises for medium to complex projects.
  • Coordinate supplier and external manufacturer and material evaluation processes to ensure the use of approved vendors that have met the company's requirements, have provided all required documentation and have completed required product safety improvements.
  • Serve as the lead auditor for suppliers, external manufactures, internal product safety audits and company facility evaluations within a defined category and coordinate efforts within the businesses to ensure follow up on audit findings to complete corrective action plans and ensure compliance.
  • Update stakeholders on key processes within the supplier and external manufacturing process and lead change management communications to ensure continuous relationship management with suppliers and external manufacturers.
  • Raise deployment risks or issues, develop mitigation strategies for issue resolution, handle improvement opportunities and respond to questions raised by the business.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in product safety, quality and auditing systems
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience in a global business
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to describe the complex in a simple, actionable way  
  • Strong data skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to coach and influence others outside of reporting relationships
  • Ability to build trust, handle conflict and develop mutually beneficial solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Animal Nutrition Industry in a supplier and/or customer-facing role
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a processing environment
