Job Purpose and Impact

Cargill Risk Management is seeking a commercial leader to lead and grow the APAC regional business while serving as the strategic advisor for key customer relationships. 

This role will be responsible for developing and executing the regional go-to-market strategy for commodity risk management solutions. 

The successful candidate will combine strong business development capabilities, deep knowledge of commodity markets and derivative-based risk management solutions, and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. They will act as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them manage commodity exposure, protect margins and navigate market volatility, while leading commercial teams and coordinating cross-functional resources to deliver differentiated customer value.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead the APAC team, including regional strategy, customer prioritization, pipeline development, commercial execution and performance management.
• Build and strengthen executive-level customer relationships, leveraging Cargill's full suite of products, services and risk management capabilities.
• Partner with customers to understand commodity exposures, margin pressures and procurement challenges, translating these needs into effective hedging and risk management solutions.
• Drive business development initiatives and expand CRM's presence with priority customers through consultative, value-based selling.
• Lead and influence account teams and cross-functional partners to deliver top-line growth, contribution margin improvement and strong return on investment.
• Foster customer-centric, data-driven decision making by understanding customer strategies, investments and responses to market trends.
• Collaborate with trading, credit, legal, compliance, operations, technology and other teams to deliver integrated customer solutions while maintaining strong governance and control standards.
• Coach, develop and lead team members across sales, sales execution and commercial enablement, ensuring disciplined account management and customer coverage.
• Drive performance against revenue, margin, pipeline, customer engagement and growth objectives while maintaining compliance with regulatory and risk management requirements.
• Represent Cargill Risk Management externally as an industry and thought leader in commodity risk management and the food sector.
• Provide strategic guidance on long-term customer growth initiatives, capital projects and innovative value-creation opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, agriculture, food industry management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of commercial risk management / OTC derivatives / trading experience within food / Agri / financial markets industry. In addition to this, we can also indicate the external job title as Director, APAC Commodity Derivative Sales as a more targeted outreach.
• Demonstrated success building strategic customer relationships and growing a commercial portfolio.
• Strong understanding of commodity markets, derivative instruments, hedging strategies and structured risk management solutions.
• Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders across a matrixed organization and operate effectively in a regulated environment.
• Strong business development, consultative selling, analytical and executive communication skills.

Preferred Profile

• The ideal candidate is a senior commercial leader with experience in commodity risk management, financial markets, trading or structured solutions. They bring deep expertise in customer relationship management, risk management advisory and business development, combined with the credibility to engage senior customer stakeholders.
• Experience with APAC markets, OTC derivatives, ISDA documentation, credit, compliance and cross-border commercial execution is highly preferred. The candidate should be comfortable operating at the intersection of customer strategy, commodity market volatility and financial risk management, while leading teams and influencing stakeholders to deliver sustainable growth and customer value.
