Pay Rate: $27.09 CAD/hr

The FSQR Labourer is responsible for supporting hatchery operations through the monitoring of incubation equipment and environmental conditions, assisting with egg handling and setting procedures, maintaining facility security, and performing sanitation and biosecurity activities. This role ensures efficient hatchery operations while promoting animal welfare, food safety, and compliance with company standards.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintaining full attendance on all scheduled shifts
  • Providing immediate notification to the FSQR Lead or Hatchery Manager when unable to report for a scheduled shift
  • Adhering strictly to all bio-security rules, regulations, and company policies, including mandatory shower-in procedures
  • Properly caring for and handling all company equipment, clothing, and facilities
  • Reporting any new contact with poultry or other birds outside of the workplace to the FSQR Lead or Hatchery Manager immediately
  • Following all procedures and guidelines outlined in the Cargill Stakeholder HandbookMaintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Ensures strict adherence to bio-security rules and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 40lbs, kneeling, climbing, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Production Experience
