Job Purpose and Impact
The Consultant, Data Management & Governance (Market Data Services), job ensures the accuracy, security and effective use of the organization’s externally sourced market data. With limited supervision, this job implements contract and inventory optimization policies and procedures, handles and understands content quality, options and alternatives, and optimization of sources, and provides guidance on compliance with contract terms and third-party / vendor reporting requirements to consumers.
The Data Management & Governance job is also providing a service to our internal stakeholders. This job manages requests for analysis and support for selecting, onboarding, using / consuming, amending, and managing third-party provided market data.
Key Accountabilities
- STRATEGIC PLANNING: Implements and supports the development of data management and governance strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- MARKET DATA CONTRACT & INVENTORY STORAGE, ADMINISTRATION & TRACKING: Defines and implements standards for administration of contracts, contract terms, services, inventory and key contract lifecycle events (eg. subscription onboarding, cancellation and / or renewal).
- DATA ADMINISTRATION STANDARDS: Defines and documents data administration standards to ensure consistency and quality across all contracts and inventories, and assures that policies are followed.
- MARKET DATA ADMINISTRATION QUALITY: Defines the procedures for ensuring accuracy, consistency and reliability of information on contracts, inventory and cost, throughout subscription lifecycle by defining quality standards, monitoring quality metrics and implementing corrective processes while supporting quality audits as needed to ensure standards are met.
- POLICY DEVELOPMENT & GOVERNANCE: Implements content governance policies that help maintain acquisition and administration integrity ensuring processes align with organizational goals, and frameworks that define how contracts and subscriptions are tracked, internally charged and governed across the organization.
- DATA OPERATIONS & STEWARDSHIP: Defines operational improvements to reduce inventory and cost management errors, improve efficiency and speed while assuring accuracy and compliance to third party regulations and policies.
- DATA LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT: Handles moderately complex projects to onboard / consume data from initiation to decommissioning through the lifecycle to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- TECHNOLOGY: Sustains solutions or improvements to data management and governance technologies to advance data practices for improved compliance, efficiency and value.
- SERVICE OPERATIONS: Defines and administers request and incident management processes to ensure service levels for requests are met, including prioritization, communications and tracking to completion.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more of relevant experience.
The following experience is advantageous:
Market Data acquisition and administration, including familiarity with applications like Market Data Management (MDM), and Optimized Spend (FITS / OS).
Agile methodology, including scrums and ticket management solutions like JIRA.
Business Analysis / Data Analysis and analytical approach to problem solving.
Reporting / dashboard build out, data engineering, technical solutions for cataloguing / library management
Short Description
External Posting: Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law.
The expected salary for this position is $83,000 - $109,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
