Commercial Merchandising Trainee

This position is in our Ag & Trading enterprise, where we connect producers and users of grains and oilseeds around the globe through origination, trading, processing, and distribution. We also offer a range of farmer services and risk management solutions.

Learn about our agricultural commodities merchandising industry and how we operate in a rapidly changing economic environment. You will also broaden your understanding of local supply and demand factors that impact markets, and commercial decisions to generate revenue. As well as initiate and negotiate on terms of commodity purchase and collaborate with our supply chain and plant operations teams to timely fulfill commodity contracts for our customers.
As part of this traineeship, you will be able to collaborate with a diverse group of trainees across EMEA, enriching each other while addressing business challenges. Together you will build first-class skills and a network that will benefit you throughout your career.
Key Accountabilities
- Work directly with customers, suppliers and business counterparts to develop business solutions to meet their needs.
- Provide market analysis and pricing support, particularly for oilseeds processing in Europe.
- Monitor and review daily cash, futures and Forex positions.
- Collaborate with transportation and logistics, quality assurance and finance departments to ensure seamless execution of operations.
- Generate market, position and profit and loss reports based on data and specialty reports.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree, preferably in Business, Economics or Agricultural studies
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- No more than two years of professional experience (including internship experience)
