Principal Accountabilities
- Use a straight knife and/or air knife to trim, cut, remove excess gristle, fat, bone, contamination, etc. from raw product according to required specifications.
- Place or store product in appropriate holding container or conveyor.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area through knowledge and practice safe and efficient knifing ergonomic practices such as, keeping knife sharp using safe sharpening skills, avoiding excess cuts and movements, maintaining good posture, etc.
- Understand and adhere to all food safety rules and regulations, including personal hygiene, wearing clean and proper attire, eyewear, etc. washing hands when entering production floor and ensure equipment and tools are maintained and stored in a manner to maintain sanitary conditions.
- Ability to keep and maintain a sharp knife and tools.
- Other supporting roles in the processing of beef.
Required Qualifications
- Legal to work in the US without the need of a visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years or older
- Minimum of 1 year industrial butcher/industrial meat cutting experience in a plant production environment using manual cutting utensils
