Application Development Lead
Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Professional, application developer builds, maintains, integrates, and implements software applications within the organization with minimal supervision. This job performs complex software application testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, and support to ensure smooth, stable, and timely implementation of new software and updates to installed applications. This role involves full stack development using Java, Spring Boot, React, Redux, and PostgreSQL, and includes collaboration with technical teams across business groups to deliver digital solutions that support organizational goals and digital transformation.
Key Accountabilities
- APPLICATION CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT:
Designs and maintains application configurations to meet user and business requirements. Identifies and implements improvements to application support processes, ensuring performance, quality, and responsiveness of web applications. - APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT & DEPLOYMENT:
Performs advanced programming and deployment of web applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, Redux, and PostgreSQL. Implements and manages APIs and microservices architecture. Applies DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins/Vela and Git for continuous integration and deployment. Applies working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure. Manages integration and compatibility with third-party services and tools, including containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. - USER COMMUNICATION & SUPPORT:
Collaborates with business stakeholders and operations teams to identify and manage KPIs. Presents findings and progress using tools like MS PowerPoint and MS Word. Supports users by addressing performance issues, bottlenecks, and bugs. - APPLICATION SUPPORT:
Leads the resolution of complex technical issues and ensures application stability. Evaluates the performance of services and drives continuous improvement initiatives. - STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT:
Partners with cross-functional teams to align development efforts with business needs. Demonstrates strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in multi-stakeholder, fast-paced, and ambiguous environments. - INCIDENT & REQUEST MANAGEMENT:
Independently solves complex issues and leads a team of junior and mid-level developers. Prioritizes and manages incoming development requests and incidents.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 8-12 years of relevant work experience.
