This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Strategic Customer Sales position will help promote and sell the company's products to new customers. In this role, you will help research and identify customer needs to create and propose solutions, help prospect for new accounts, secure appointments, resolve needs, deliver sales presentations, negotiate terms and conditions, overcome objections and close sales.

Key Accountabilities

  • With guidance, execute strategies focused on expanding client base within defined market segments.
  • Collaborate with our senior staff to produce new account revenue in line with current organization and individual targets and quotas.
  • Work with moderately complex accounts, products and services, sales or account management process.
  • Work directly with customers with moderate authority to negotiate product and service terms.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and commercial partnerships.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Minimum of two years of experience in the agriculture industry
  • Proficiency in SAP
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver compelling sales presentations
