Compensation: $23.63/hr

Job Overview
The Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory (FSQR) Technician I supports compliance by helping ensure products meet USDA-FSIS, company, and customer requirements. In this role, you will work closely with production operations and USDA-FSIS inspectors to prepare products for inspection, monitor compliance activities, and support a safe food manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do

  • Monitor USDA-FSIS regulatory activities and plant compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements while working with both USDA-FSIS inspectors and plant operations personnel. 
  • Prepare carcasses and product components for inspection by making required cuts and incisions using approved tools and techniques and communicate regularly with USDA-FSIS inspectors to support inspection activities.
  • Perform food safety and quality monitoring activities throughout the production process to ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards. 
  • Conduct product, process, and sanitation verifications, documenting inspection results, deviations, and corrective actions accurately and completely. 
  • Perform job duties in a fast-paced, cold, or warm production setting with required PPE while engaging in physical tasks such as standing for long periods of time, climbing, bending, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as requested.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, and regulatory policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English. 
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to work with weights, measurements, and production information.
  • Basic knowledge of safe food handling practices.
  • Ability to use knives, hooks, and other job-related tools safely and effectively and lift up to 50 pounds

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Previous beef or protein processing experience.
  • Previous knife handling experience in a food manufacturing or processing 
    environment. 
  • Experience working in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance or with USDA-FSIS inspectors or regulatory agencies.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to learn and apply technical food safety, quality, and regulatory procedures.
  • Work history in the last 12 months.
