Job Purpose and Impact

The Biodiesel Senior Merchant will be a leader in providing market input, creating dialogue, and merchandising biodiesel in the North American market.  In this role, you will manage relationships with a range of customers in the biodiesel market and collaborate with internal contacts throughout the supply chain and various functions. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with merchandising peers, transportation and logistics, quality assurance, and credit manager to ensure efficient execution.
  • Develop marketing plan, utilizing network of production facilities to optimize freight options.
  • Independently work with the accounting and finance departments to resolve contract applications, pricings, and accounts receivable.
  • Maintain a market bias to provide direction for managing margins and various financial risks.
  • Work directly with customers, suppliers and business counterparts to meet their needs to develop customized business solutions for an overall strategy.
  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You will provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in energy markets or liquid fuel supply chai

  • Experience merchandising physical commodities
