Regional Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Leader - APAC
Job Purpose and Impact
The Regional Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Director will identify, set and drive strategic direction with business leaders, the external environment and customers throughout the specific region. In this role, you will partner with key internal and external stakeholders to develop and nurture a strong leadership team that has the skills needed to establish and achieve business objectives and growth strategies.
Key Accountabilities
- Identify and develop strategic regulatory and scientific affairs capabilities by recruiting, coaching and developing a diverse team of highly engaged national regulatory leaders.
- Provide regional oversight and reporting to the corporation including forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training, and budgeting. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs
- Represent the company in research and development, Law, Government Relations and with business groups and committees and provide expertise and thought leadership that protects the brand, enables growth, and aligns with the strategic approach to food safety quality and regulatory management.
- As the regional leader and Regulatory authority, participate in, manage and coordinate scientific, trade and intergovernmental organizations related activities that include coalitions, technical committees and advisory councils to advance business objectives and elevate the company's brand and reputation globally.
- Through national leaders build and enable strong connections with the technical and regulatory agencies involved in Product safety and compliance to enable growth and freedom to operate
- Partner with commercial leaders to create strategies related to value added food safety quality and regulatory developments for customers, serve as a technical expert with key customers and build customer relationships.
- Maintain expertise and knowledge of food safety quality and regulatory affairs and research and examine trends and figure out impact of emerging regulatory changes.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of eight years of related work experience, five years of supervisory experience
- Other minimum qualifications may apply
Preferred Qualifications
- Well connected Regulatory Professional in the Food or Feed industries.
- Minimum of 15 years of regulatory experience.
- Experience managing a diverse and regional regulatory team.
- Experience in setting up regulatory standards and business processes.
- Ability to influence senior leaders and enable growth.
