Job Purpose and Impact

The Bioenergy Merchant will handle a moderately complex supplier base and fulfill transactions delivering commodities that meet production requirements and specifications in terms of timing, volume, quantity and cost. In this role, you will buy and sell commodities from and to country elevators, producers, feed mills and processors.

Key Accountabilities

  • Independently support and execute the China bioenergy business strategy, with a focus on leading waste oil procurement activities.
  • Act as the key contact point with global teams to understand purchasing requirements and align local sourcing activities accordingly.
  • Actively explore other bioenergy related import and export business opportunities, including feedstocks, finished products, vegetable oils and byproducts.
  • Coordinate with key internal stakeholders, including Trading, Commercial, Trade Execution, Legal, Tax, Credit, and other relevant functions, to ensure smooth execution.
  • Work closely with vegetable oil and bioenergy analysts and provide key market inputs on SnD study.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • 5–8 years of working experience, including around 3 years of experience in waste oil trading, procurement, or closely related commercial activities. Pure trading experience is not mandatory; candidates with procurement or relevant commercial experience can also be considered.
  • English can be used as a working language in both written and verbal communication.
  • Open-minded, ambitious, and demonstrates high integrity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to execute under tight timelines and pressure.
