Job Purpose and Impact

The Calf & Heifer Specialist will, with guidance, sell directly to dairy producers and dealers, and will support the regional team of Dairy Focus Consultants as they sell to their customers. We seek a results-oriented professional who is comfortable conducting face-to-face sales with new and existing customers. In this role, you will assist in evaluating customer needs and suggesting appropriate products, services, and solutions. You will also provide your team of consultants with technical information regarding calves and heifers so that they can extend this knowledge to their customers and prospects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify potential customers and handle existing customer relationships.
  • Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends.
  • Protect, grow, and diversify the relationship with targeted customers.
  • Support customer businesses by providing management and nutritional expertise regarding calves and heifers.
  • Support a team of Cargill Dairy Focus Consultants to provide them with tools to grow the young animal nutrition portion of their businesses.
  • Work with our manufacturing facilities to provide our customers with high quality products.
  • Collaborate with US Young Animal Nutrition Team to develop and share knowledge.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25%. (Occasional overnight travel)
  • Driver´s License and own vehicle

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master´s degree in a related field 
  • Five years of related work experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, etc)
  • Bilingual English Spanish (Intermediate Spanish level)
