Job Purpose and Impact

The Food Grain Junior Merchant will operate BULK vessel and manage load/discharge process of BULK vessel & Containers to enhance grains (wheat, barley, soybeans, corn) business opportunity and provide our customers with global food solutions import to Japan. You will be responsible in managing futures trading positions including but not limited to receiving and executing pricing orders, communicate results and manage positions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with Suppliers/Vessel-owners/Forwarders to reduce the COGS and in the meantime, increase customer satisfaction
  • Cost calculation and Pricing preparation for the MAFF/ Private Miller tenders
  • This position interacts with wide range of Stakeholders including Government, Wheat Millers, Food Manufactures, Vessel operators/Broker and Forwarders for Logistics, so that Building Trust-based, deepened relationship and demonstrating effective negotiation skills are essential
  • This position requires passion for the knowledge building and analytics of Global Grain/Oilseed Future/Cash, Freight/Forex markets. Deepen the understanding of the entire Supply chain is essential to better manage risks in logistics and better lead the buyers

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of trade practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft office 
  • Business level English

Preferred Qualification

  • B2B sales experience. Experience with price-volatile products is preferred
  • Trading knowledge & experience in import commodities, bulk vessel operations, exchange/futures market trading
