Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Energy Portfolio Manager, as a subject matter authority, will have key oversight across a diverse portfolio of producers and consumers of energy. In this role, you will work closely with sales, credit, legal and structuring to determine and evaluate potential opportunities and to identify any key risks within a designated portfolio. The Senior Energy Portfolio Manager will serve as an internal consultant and liaison between Credit and the business. In this role you will be relied on for your subject matter expertise, and need to remain up to date on legal, compliance and economic issues affecting the energy industry.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide advanced knowledge and expertise in coverage of designated portfolios with a focus on the upstream energy sector.
- Performs periodic performance and financial review of counterparties within designated portfolio.
- Work with internal and external (Engineering, Legal) support staff to review potential and existing transactions within designated portfolio.
- Develop and leverage systems for workflow management, tracking and communicating the status of matters in alignment with business priorities.
- Provides timely responses to inquiries about assigned portfolio from credit and management.
- Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of energy commodity markets and experience working within a sales and trading organization
- Ability to independently lead diligence efforts, make approval recommendations and execute on business requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong detail, analytical capabilities, and communication skills
- Minimum of six years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in either energy commodity trading or oil and gas banking
- Deep understanding of commercial finance, including lending arrangements, securitizations, trade finance, intercreditor agreements, guarantees and other credit support structures.
- Minimum 10 years of related work experience
