Transportation Sourcing Specialist
Job Purpose and Impact
Key Accountabilities
- Liaison between transportation and logistics partners with a focus on business strategy, metrics and performance to include the emphasis of carrier strength, performance maintenance and to review any improvement opportunities.
- Apply a general understanding of transportation and logistics practices and procedures to assist in negotiating freight prices and contract terms for customers.
- Update transportation websites and databases for contracts, freight rates and estimates, insurance information, customer information, and complete freight rate requests to business groups
- Independently analyze current transportation operations practices to resolve process and cost improvement opportunities.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Advance English level
- Experience with the fundamentals in transportation, logistics, operations, or supply chain management.
- Demonstrated ability to do tactical sourcing for business and shipment execution.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make strategic business decisions.
