This position is within the consumer brands team at Cargill. You'll lead the development and execution of marketing strategies that drive sales across retail channels. You will be responsible to develop shopper marketing programs, including retail media, paid search, digital promotions and in-store promotions, working within the brand marketing team. You’ll track performance, report on key metrics, and ensure alignment with business goals.

This role will also collaborate with our sales team, retail partners, retail media agencies and analyze data to recommend new marketing activities. Your role will be crucial in driving growth through shopper campaigns that move the needle.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Shopper Marketing Associate Manager, plays a key role in supporting the development and execution of shopper marketing strategies and campaigns designed to drive brand growth at the retail level. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Trade Marketing, Category Management, and the consumer brands marketing team, to create impactful shopper marketing campaigns that engage consumers and drive sales. This role requires a deep understanding of shopper behavior, retail trends, retail media and a passion for consumer marketing.

Key Accountabilities

  • Shopper Marketing & Retail Media Strategy: Assist in the development and execution of shopper marketing campaigns and strategies that align with brand and sales objectives. Help drive category and brand growth at retail by implementing effective shopper-centric programs. Lead the retail media strategy development and execution.
  • Retailer Collaboration: Work closely with retail partners to co-develop and execute marketing programs that enhance shopper experience and boost in-store performance.
  • Promotional Campaigns: Lead the execution of in-store promotional campaigns, including product displays, sampling programs, and digital activations, ensuring they are aligned with overall brand objectives.
  • Data Analysis and Insights: Utilize shopper insights, sales data, and category trends to evaluate campaign performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Provide actionable insights to internal teams for continuous optimization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with the Sales, Category, and Consumer Marketing teams to ensure shopper marketing initiatives are integrated into broader marketing and sales strategies.
  • Budget Management: Assist in managing and tracking the budget for shopper marketing programs, ensuring all programs are executed within budget while meeting key objectives.
  • Execution Excellence: Ensure flawless execution of all shopper marketing initiatives from concept to delivery, working with external agencies and internal teams to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Industry Trends: Stay informed about the latest trends in the CPG food industry, shopper behavior, and retail environments, using this knowledge to drive innovative marketing solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in shopper marketing, trade marketing, or CPG brand marketing.
  • Strong understanding of retail and shopper behavior, with experience in developing and executing successful retail media campaigns.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data-driven, with the ability to analyze and translate shopper insights and sales data into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with shopper marketing platforms and data analytics tools a plus.

External Applicant Information

Location: This role is open to candidates in Minneapolis, MN. 

The expected salary for this position is approximately $90,000 to $110,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal.
